We wrote that the PlayStation 5 received a 1.3GB update that improves system performance and stability. However, it turned out that the update also fixes a significant bug in Final Fantasy XVI.
Here's What We Know
When the console received the update on 24.06-10.00.00, it turned out that it broke Final Fantasy XVI. Huge artefacts started appearing in the game: the screen started flickering, large black squares appeared everywhere, and it was simply impossible to play.
Do not play FF16 on performance mode what is this ????

However, the game's official Twitter account reported that an update released on 20 September fixed the problem.
It's unclear why Sony didn't mention this in the update description, but now, in theory, FF 16 should be comfortable to play again.
