Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold disappoints users with slow Pixel 6-level charging speeds
Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the company's new foldable smartphone, has faced criticism over its charging speed. Despite a hefty price tag of $1,800, the device only supports wired charging at 21W, which is slower than the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, which charge at 27W. It's also significantly inferior to the Pixel 9 Pro XL's 37W charging speed.
Here's What We Know
Charging issues aren't limited to wired charging. Wireless charging also suffers due to the low placement of the charging coil inside the device, making many wireless chargers incompatible. The lack of Qi2 support for magnetic accessories compounds this problem.
While the Pixel 9 Pro Fold offers an innovative foldable display, its performance falls short of the expectations set by the "Pro" name. The device is inferior in terms of charging speed and doesn't support some accessories, which is disappointing for users. Despite this, Google continues to promote the Pixel 9 Pro Fold as a premium product, which raises questions about its real value.
