Not the best camera phone, but in the top 4: DxOMark has rated the iPhone 16 Pro Max camera
On 20 September, Apple officially started selling the new line of smartphones iPhone 16. And just on this day came out a great review of the iPhone 16 Pro Max camera, conducted by the specialists of DxOMark.
What this time
The iPhone 16 Pro Max received an average score of 157: 157 for photos, 80 for bokeh, 142 for zoom and 159 for video. A score of 157 indicates that the iPhone 16 Pro Max is one of the top-rated, but still not the best camera phone on the market today.
The smartphone is now on the 4th place of the DxOMark rating. Huawei Mate 60 Pro+ and Oppo Find X7 Ultra have exactly the same result. And above are Honor Magic6 Pro and Google Pixel 9 Pro XL (158 points each) and the current leader - Huawei Pura70 Ultra (163 points).
Among the pros of the camera are the best video mode on a smartphone, wide dynamic range, natural colour reproduction, excellent level of detail and effective video stabilisation. But there are also minuses: lack of detail in ultra-wide photos; shallow depth of field, which makes background objects in group shots appear out of focus; unwanted artefacts, including glare, halos, etc.
