Red Magic 9S Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 shows superiority over iPhone 16 Pro Max in Genshin Impact gaming test
In a recent gaming performance test conducted by YouTube channel "极客湾Geekerwan", last year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip performed better in the game Genshin Impact compared to Apple's new A18 Pro chip in the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Here's What We Know
In tests that also included previous iPhone models and flagship Android devices with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Dimensity 9300+ processors, the Red Magic 9S Pro with active cooling system and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 achieved an average frame rate of 59.9 FPS, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max with A18 Pro achieved 55.5 FPS.
Despite the slight difference in frame rate, the stability of gameplay on the Red Magic 9S Pro was significantly better. Interestingly, the iPhone 16 Pro with the same A18 Pro chip showed only 49.5 FPS, which may be due to a less efficient cooling system. At the same time, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus with the A18 chip showed higher frame rates than the iPhone 16 Pro.
Notably, the Xiaomi 14 Pro, which is also equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, was only able to score an average frame rate of 38.9 frames per second. These results emphasise the importance of efficient cooling to keep the chips performing well in gaming and other resource-intensive tasks.
