Some journalists refuted the information that the Concord development cost $400 million
After the closure of the online shooter Concord, many people began to wonder how much money Sony spent on the game. The figure of $400 million is often mentioned, but some journalists have begun to refute this information.
Here's What We Know
Journalist Christopher Dring from Gamesindustry.biz wrote that no game has such a budget. He also noted that Concord didn't even receive any extra marketing expenses, so what kind of 400 million can we talk about?
Journalist Tom Warren supported Christopher and noted that such numbers are nonsense.
And Kotaku journalist Ethan Gach said that he could not give an exact amount, but $400 million was not the figure he had heard.
So, with a high degree of probability, Concord cost Sony much less than some people started to write about, because with such a budget, as Dring correctly noted, the game should have had almost aggressive marketing. However, this does not negate the fact that this game has become one of the biggest failures in the history of the PlayStation.
