Spectacular teaser for Ridley Scott's Gladiator 2 has been unveiled: Paramount Pictures will release an extensive trailer today

The film company Paramount Pictures presented a small but spectacular teaser of the historical drama film Gladiator II, directed by Ridley Scott - the author of the original film, which won five Oscars and many other awards

The video is essentially an announcement of the extensive trailer that will be released today.

Viewers were shown colourful scenes of fights in the gladiatorial arena, and not only with a huge number of fighters, but also with a mighty rhinoceros.

The teaser shows the film's main stars Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn and Denzel Washington.

Here's What The Movie Is About

The plot of "Gladiator 2" unfolds 20 years after the events of the previous part and focuses on Lucius - the nephew of the Roman Emperor Commodus.

He was raised outside the Roman Empire by his mother Lucilla. Lucilla wanted to protect him, but the son feels a great resentment towards his mother and is hurt that she abandoned him away from home.

Lucius now has a wife and child and lives a peaceful life until Roman invaders invade their territory. The troops are led by Marcus Acacius (played by Pedro Pascal), whose mentor was the gladiator Maximus, the protagonist of the first film.

Lucius becomes Marcus' prisoner and will have only two options - become a slave or die in the gladiatorial arena.
