YouTube Premium raises prices: new tariffs will take effect in November
YouTube has announced a price increase for its Premium subscription that will affect users around the world. The new rates will come into effect in November, and subscribers are already receiving emails with information about the changes.
Here's What We Know
In Europe, including Belgium, the Netherlands, and Italy, the family plan will increase from 18 to 26 euros per month, and individual plans will rise from 12 to 14 euros. In Switzerland, the new cost will be CHF 34 instead of CHF 24, and in Sweden, the individual plan will rise from SEK 179 to SEK 279.
Although YouTube has not yet released a full list of countries with new prices, users are advised to keep an eye on their emails. The increase has sparked outrage among some users, who note that YouTube Premium is becoming one of the most expensive streaming services.
Spotify, for example, offers a family plan for around €18, and Apple Music is even cheaper.
