MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset outperforms Apple A18 Pro in GPU performance test
MediaTek is gearing up to release its new Dimensity 9400 chipset, which is already generating a lot of interest. In GPU tests conducted by Digital Chat Station, the new chipset showed impressive results.
Here's What We Know
In the GFX Aztec 1440p Vulkan test, the Dimensity 9400 scored 134 frames per second (fps), while the Apple A18 Pro only achieved 72 fps and last year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 achieved 95 fps. This shows a significant improvement in the graphics power of MediaTek's new chipset.
The Aztec test is part of the GFXBench suite, which is designed to simulate an intense 3D gaming environment and test graphics hardware to its limits, especially when using Vulkan, one of the high-performance graphics APIs. The "1440p" designation indicates that the test was conducted at QHD resolution, which provides a higher level of detail.
The Dimensity 9400 is equipped with Arm's Immortalis-G925 GPU, which MediaTek claims is the highest performing and most efficient to date. These results show that the new chipset has great potential to deliver a great gaming and graphics experience on mobile devices. However, final conclusions can only be drawn once smartphone manufacturers start using the Dimensity 9400 in their 2025 flagship models.
