Garmin Forerunner 255: Update 20.29 improves battery performance, but new issues arise
Garmin has released a new software version 20.29 for its Forerunner 255 smartwatch. This update contains two bug fixes. Many users have also noted that battery performance has improved over the previous version 20.26, which had issues with rapid discharge.
Here's What We Know
Garmin reports fixes that address issues with the device crashing at the start of a workout, as well as an issue that caused the emergency detection tool to remain active after a workout was completed. However, despite the overall improvements, some users have reported the opposite effect.
Version 20.29 also brought new issues. Several customers have reported that their connected Varia rear-view radar accessories are not working properly and cars are only displayed for a short period of time.
The update should be automatically pushed to all Forerunner 255 watches. Users can check for the update availability manually by selecting: Menu, System, Software update, Check for updates.
