Google introduces Gemini AI for Volkswagen drivers
Google and Volkswagen have announced a new artificial intelligence platform that will be developed specifically for drivers of Volkswagen models. This solution involves the integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) into the Volkswagen driver app, which will allow them to receive personalised assistance while driving.
Here's What We Know
Google plans to use its Gemini artificial intelligence to create a convenient assistant that will answer drivers' questions directly on the car screen or in the mobile app.
This will allow owners of Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport models, as well as other Volkswagen vehicles, to receive information about the functions and operation of their cars directly from the cloud.
The initiative will provide access to a wide range of data, including information from owner's manuals, YouTube videos and other sources. Drivers will be able to receive step-by-step instructions with text and images, making it easier to complete complex tasks.
The updated VW Tool app with Gemini AI is already available to around 120,000 Volkswagen owners. Next year, it is planned to extend its capabilities to other models released since 2020.
Google is focusing on the development of cloud computing, which now brings the company 10% of its total revenue. This year, artificial intelligence solutions are expected to bring the company billions in revenue.
