Samsung releases update for 2023 TVs ahead of Tizen 8.0 release

Users of Samsung 2023 smart TVs have started receiving a new firmware update that prepares the devices for the release of the Tizen 8.0 operating system.

Here's What We Know

The firmware has been updated to version 2000.2, which is a significant leap from previous versions.

According to the Samsung community, this interim update prepares TVs for the transition to Tizen 8.0, which is scheduled for release in mid-October. The new version of the OS will offer an improved game bar, integration with Samsung Health and SmartThings, and add accessibility features.

Samsung continues to support its TVs for seven years, which is in line with its Galaxy mobile device update policy. Users can check to see if their TV is running the latest version by going to the settings and selecting "Software Update".

Those planning to buy Samsung TVs may want to consider the 2023 models as they will receive the same updates as the newer 2024 devices.
