Here's What We Know
It looks like this will be another rebranding, like after the Snapdragon 888 to the 8 Gen series and now the 8 Elite. Qualcomm's rebranding could mark a merger with the Snapdragon X Elite processors, trying to integrate the "Elite" branding across the entire high-end chip lineup.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite is expected to be based on TSMC's 3nm process technology and will be unveiled at Snapdragon Summit 2024, which will be held in Hawaii from 21-23 October. The new chip will feature two 4.0GHz performance cores and six 2.8GHz power efficiency cores, utilising Qualcomm's dedicated Oryon architecture.
According to recent benchmarks, the Snapdragon 8 Elite shows 35 per cent better single-core performance and 30 per cent better multi-core performance compared to its predecessor. The chip is expected to run on several flagship devices, including the realme GT 7 Pro, OnePlus 13, and Samsung's Galaxy S25 and Xiaomi 15 lineups.
