Snapdragon X Elite in Dev Kit demonstrates performance on par with Apple M3 Pro

Qualcomm has introduced its new Snapdragon X Elite mini-PC in the form of a development kit. This system is powered by the most powerful processor of the Snapdragon X series, the Snapdragon Dev Kit X1E-00-1DE.

Here's What We Know

According to the results of Geekbench testing, the performance of this chip is comparable to the Apple M3 Pro.

The study was conducted by Jeff Gerling, who tested the Snapdragon X Elite. He got 3,020 points in single-core mode and 15,969 in multi-core mode. For comparison, the Apple M3 Pro scored 3138 in single-core and 15,480 in multi-core modes.

The Snapdragon X Elite consumes about 80W, while the M3 Pro consumes only 28W. This indicates that the Snapdragon X Elite is less energy efficient than the Apple M3 Pro.

Gerling also tested the mini-PC in Cinebench 2024, where the Snapdragon X Elite achieved 131 points in single-core and 1227 in multi-core modes.

The Apple M3 Pro received 143 points and 1059, respectively.

The Snapdragon X Elite has competitive performance, but it also requires more power. This may affect its use in laptops.
