We have recently started working on the translation of Play Nice, a book that tells the story of Blizzard. We plan to publish it next year ⚔️ https://t.co/cLDyG33gNo pic.twitter.com/BGcG5Mu9dg
In the book Playing by the Rules: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment, Jason Schreiner analysed more than thirty years of history of one of the most important gaming studios that created such franchises as Warcraft, Diablo, StarCraft, Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, and Overwatch.
Jason Schreyer interviewed more than 350 former and current Blizzard employees and described in detail how the American company rose to the top of the gaming business and then got mired in scandals, lawsuits, reputational losses, and projects of dubious quality. Schreyer paid a lot of attention to the merger with Activision (2008) and then with Microsoft (2023).
It is worth reminding that Jason Schreier is the author of the most popular books about the gaming industry - Blood, Sweat, and Pixels. The Triumphant, Turbulent, and Turbulent Side of the Video Game Industry: The Triumphant, Turbulent Stories Behind How Video Games Are Made) and "Press Reset. Press Reset: Ruin and Recovery in the Video Game Industry: How the Game Industry Destroys Careers and Gives Second Chances".
