The iPhone SE 4 will be the first smartphone with an inbuilt 5G modem from Apple
Apple plans to release an updated iPhone SE next year, which will be the company's first device with its own 5G modem.
Here's What We Know
This will be the first update to the SE model since 2022. Apple acquired most of Intel's smartphone modem business for $1 billion in 2019 in a bid to become more independent. However, until now, the company has been using Qualcomm modems.
The iPhone SE 4 will be similar to the iPhone 14 and will feature an A18 chip with 8GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence features. The device will get Face ID and will lack the home button like previous SE models. The cameras will be similar to the iPhone 15: 48 MP wide-angle and 12 MP front-facing.
Apple plans to test its modem on a single device before mass rollout. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to be unveiled next spring.
