The Chinese have equipped their ZTQ-15 tanks with anti-drone "grills"
The ground forces of the People's Liberation Army of China have begun to equip their tanks with additional protection against drones.
Here's What We Know
The footage shows ZTQ-15 light tanks equipped with turrets with massive "grills". They cover the front, sides, top and rear of the vehicle.
It can also be seen that the protective elements cover the engine and transmission compartments of the combat vehicles, and partially the external fuel tanks.
The exercises also involved the use of quadcopter-type reconnaissance drones, unmanned ground logistics platforms, and a vehicle for creating electronic jamming based on a Dongfeng 6×6 off-road vehicle.
Obviously, the People's Liberation Army of China is studying and applying the experience of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine in great detail, preparing for a possible armed conflict with the active use of attack drones.
Flashback
The ZTQ-15 is a modern light tank developed by China to operate in rugged terrain such as mountains and jungles. First introduced to the public in 2016, the tank has a 105mm gun with the ability to fire guided missiles. It is characterised by a high level of mobility and protection, including a turret equipped with special protective structures covering all projections. The ZTQ-15 is equipped with modern sighting systems and an active protection system, and is capable of operating in low oxygen conditions.
