Silent Hill 2: Remake attracts over 23 thousand simultaneous players on Steam at launch
The remake of Silent Hill 2 has recently been released after the owners of the Deluxe Edition were able to enjoy early access over the weekend. The game has already gained wide critical acclaim and, apparently, attracts a large number of players.
Here's What We Know
According to the SteamDB database, at the time of writing, the peak online figure is 23,676 players - a very good result, especially for a series that has been on hiatus for a long time and has never been a blockbuster. However, these figures are slightly lower than those of other recent horror remakes.
The Resident Evil series is the most comparable: at the time of release, more than 74 thousand players were playing Resident Evil 2, more than 60 thousand players were playing Resident Evil 3, and more than 168 thousand players were playing Resident Evil 4. For example, the remake of Dead Space reached a peak of more than 30 thousand simultaneous players.
Where To Play
Silent Hill 2 is available to play on PlayStation 5 and Windows.
