Bloomberg: Apple is developing a budget version of its Vision Pro headset - it could come out as early as next year

Apple has started selling the Vision Pro virtual and augmented reality headset in early 2024.

The device supports several interesting features, but due to its high cost of $3499, few people are interested in it. But since investments have already been made, the American manufacturer plans to provide customers with a more budget model.

Here's What We Know

Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman reported that in 2025 a cheaper version of Apple Vision Pro will be released.

According to him, the headset will use a less advanced chip and relatively cheap materials, which will allow Apple Vision Pro (the name is tentative) to sell for $2000.

Gurman pointed out that due to the downgraded technical capabilities, the device will not support a number of options of its older version, for example, there will be no support for the EyeSight feature, which shows the user's eyes on the outside of the headset.

Apple predicts that the reduced price will attract twice as many buyers as the current Vision Pro model.

In addition to the budget model of the headset, Apple is also developing a full-fledged next-generation virtual and augmented reality device that won't be released until 2027.
