The US company Leonardo DRS has unveiled a new Counter-UAS air defence system based on the Stryker BMP.

Here's What We Know

The mobile C-UAS DE Stryker is equipped with a 26-kilowatt LOCUST laser launcher from BlueHalo, which is well suited for destroying non-plitters of various types.

The prototype combat vehicle has an Arnold Defence launcher that fires 70mm APKWS 2 guided missiles from BAE Systems. In addition, the crew can use (and simultaneously with other weapons) a 30mm XN914 cannon from Northrop Grumman.

The new air defence system is equipped with advanced technologies including DRS's RPS-92 nMHR radar and BlueHalo Titan C-UAS and Titan-SV 360° radar reconnaissance assets.

It is noted that the first working prototype of the C-UAS DE Stryker has been built in just eight months. The development involved not only Leonardo DRS, but also other US defence companies.

In September, the first tests took place, where the C-UAS DE Stryker proved its effectiveness and destroyed all ground and air targets.
