First private school for training drone operators certified in Ukraine

Ukraine's Ministry of Defence has confirmed that it has certified the first private school to train UAV operators.

Global Drone Academy, a private school in Kyiv, received the certificate under a simplified procedure. The institution will not only teach military and civilians how to fly drones, but will also provide graduates with a relevant military speciality that will allow them to serve in the military in a specific area.

The process took place as part of a pilot project to certify private UAV schools, which was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine two weeks ago.

This initiative is aimed at increasing the number of specialists trained in Ukraine and improving the quality of training in private schools. After all, certified companies must meet clear criteria.

To clarify, Global Drone Academy has been operating since 2022. During this time, the school has graduated more than 3,700 drone operators. Among its graduates are military officers from the Special Forces, the GUR, the SBU, and the Armed Forces.
