Zelenskyy: Ukraine will receive military aid from the US every two weeks
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with journalists that Ukraine would receive military aid from the United States every two to three weeks in the coming months in the form of packages worth $500-700 million.
Here's What We Know
"I won't talk about the details yet, because I don't have the right to do so. I think the packages will be large - from $500 million to $750 million," Zelenskyy said, noting that the delivery process should be fast, as it is vital for Ukraine.
He also noted that the Anna Kyivska Brigade, which is currently being trained and equipped by France, will be in Ukraine by the end of November. In addition, Zelenskyy said that the partners are already working on the possibility of inviting Ukraine to NATO.
"We are closer to NATO with the United States than we have ever been. Today, Germany remains sceptical [about Ukraine's future in NATO]. Those who want to leave space in the dialogue with Russia will not sign the invitation to join the Alliance. If you want us to talk to the Russians, then strengthen us so that we sit equally. Give us weapons," he said.
The President also rejected the idea of creating nuclear weapons in Ukraine: "About yesterday's news about the 'creation' of nuclear weapons by Ukraine: this is a throw-in from media platforms."
"I believe that Ukraine should be in NATO. The argument is that during the Budapest Memorandum, we gave up nuclear weapons and were guaranteed security. If Ukraine had not given up nuclear weapons, it would have been the same umbrella that other nuclear powers have," Zelenskyy said.
