The Redmi K80 series may get compact models with Dimensity 9400 and Snapdragon 8 Elite chips
The other day rumours surfaced about a new compact smartphone from Redmi, which could be part of the K80 series. The device is expected to feature a 6.3-inch display and a 6000 mAh battery.
Here's What We Know
Smart Pikachu informant claims that this mini-flagship could get a Dimensity 9400 processor and will arrive by the end of this year, while there could also be a compact variant with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip that will be released next year. Both the smartphones, judging by the tags in the whistleblower's post, will belong to the K80 series. If confirmed, Redmi will make an interesting choice by using flagship processors from MediaTek and Qualcomm in the same series.
Xiaomi is currently focusing on the launch of the standard Redmi K80 series, which is expected next month. The series will include at least two variants, the K80 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and the K80 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Elite. If the compact phone with Dimensity 9400 chip is indeed part of the K80 line-up, it could be launched in November along with the other models. For now, information about the new device remains speculative and it's worth waiting for an official confirmation from Xiaomi.
