South Korea considers sending intelligence officers and experts on North Korea to Ukraine

South Korean media reported that Seoul may send military and intelligence personnel to Ukraine after North Korea sent troops to support Russia in the war.

South Korean personnel in Ukraine will interrogate or provide translation services if the North Korean occupiers are captured by the Ukrainian military. They will also provide Kyiv with information on DPRK military tactics, doctrine and operations.

South Korea's Ministry of Defence has announced that it will review measures to possibly supply lethal weapons to Ukraine. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Seoul has provided Kyiv with only humanitarian aid.

Such statements came after South Korean intelligence said that Kim Jong-un had decided to send 12,000 troops to support Russia in its war against Ukraine. Probably 1,500 of them are already in the Russian Far East.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that North Korea "intends to train 10,000 soldiers from various branches of the armed forces" for war. He also said that North Korea's involvement could be "the first step towards a world war".
