Media: South Korea may start directly supplying Ukraine with offensive weapons in response to DPRK and Russian actions

We have already reported that according to media reports, the South Korea considers sending intelligence officers and experts on North Korea to Ukraine sending intelligence representatives and intelligence officers to Ukraine in response to the deployment of North Korean soldiers to Russia to take part in combat operations.

This information has not yet been officially confirmed, but another important (and maybe even more important) news has become known.

Here's What We Know

According to the South Korean edition of Yonhap, the South Korean government is closer than ever to making a decision on direct deliveries of offensive weapons to Ukraine.

Recall, according to its own doctrine, South Korea does not directly supply weapons to belligerent countries, but Ukraine receives their artillery shells and other necessary means of defeat through third countries (mainly through the United States).

South Korean National Defence Adviser Kim Tae-hyo commented on the situation as follows:

If the illegal cooperation between North Korea and Russia continues, [South Korea] will not stand aside but will respond resolutely together with the international community.

In June, Putin visited North Korea and signed a bilateral agreement that included military cooperation. Seoul authorities immediately said that they would not leave such a step without a symmetrical response and, to all appearances, its time will come soon.

It should not be forgotten that South Korea is one of the largest producers of weapons and its direct assistance to Ukraine can play a significant role in repelling Russian aggression.
