Samsung is also working on a smartphone that folds three times
Insiders from South Korea have reported that Samsung plans to release a smartphone that folds three times in 2025.
Here's What We Know
The company has already developed the necessary technology and prepared supplies for the new product. The final decision will depend on the MX (Mobile eXperience) division, which is responsible for the development of folding phones.
Demand for the new Galaxy Fold6 and Galaxy Flip6 models was lower than expected. This led to a decrease in orders for foldable OLED panels by more than 10%.
Samsung's shipments of displays for such panels in 2024 will amount to 12 million units, which is 40% less than in 2023.
Despite the decline in demand, Samsung may try to attract new customers by releasing a more affordable version of the Galaxy Flip.
