Galaxy S21 FE receives October security update in Europe

The Galaxy S21 FE has started receiving the October 2024 security update, which was initially only available in the US and has now expanded to several European countries.

Here's What We Know

The update includes firmware G990BXXSAGXJ1 for the SM-G990B model and G990B2XXS9GXJ1 for the SM-G990B2. It fixes 42 security vulnerabilities found in previous versions.

The update is already available in Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Ukraine and other countries.

You can check for the update by going to Settings, Software Update, Download and Install.

The next major update for the Galaxy S21 FE will be One UI 7.0 based on Android 15, which was demonstrated at the Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) 2014. The Galaxy S21 FE, which launched in 2022 with Android 12, also received updates to Android 13 in 2022 and Android 14 in 2023. Android 16 is scheduled for the end of 2025.
