It's official: Ubisoft has confirmed that the developers of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will take on the revival of the Rayman franchise
Yesterday we reported that the development team of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was disbanded and Ubisoft Montpellier studio was closed.
Shortly after that insider Tom Henderson said that the employees of this studio will develop a new game of Rayman series.
Ubisoft's official comment didn't take long to come.
Here's What We Know
The French publisher stated that its Montpellier and Milan-based developers have indeed "recently taken on the task of researching the Rayman brand".
Ubisoft doesn't specify what kind of project they're talking about, but there's speculation online that it will be a remake of the first Rayman instalment. It is interesting that the company has attracted a famous game designer and creator of the Rayman franchise Michel Ancel, who has long since retired from active work in the game industry, as a consultant.
