Apple demonstrates new "Scribble to Siri" feature in iPadOS 18.1: handwritten text turns into typed text

Apple has introduced a new feature called Scribble to Siri in the updated iPadOS 18.1, which allows users to enter queries for Siri using the Apple Pencil.

Here's What We Know

This option was first introduced in iPadOS 14 in 2020, where handwritten text is automatically converted to typed text. With the new update, when you write a query for Siri, the text is automatically converted.

In an interview with TechRadar, Apple representatives Tom Boger and Kurt Knight emphasised this feature, stressing that Scribble works in any text field. However, the new version of Siri is only available on iPad Pro, iPad Air, and iPad mini with M1, M2, M4, or A17 Pro chips.

iPadOS 18.1 will be available for general use next week, and this feature will provide new opportunities for users who actively use the Apple Pencil.
