TCL introduces new inkjet printing technology for more affordable OLED displays

TCL, through its CSOT business unit, has introduced a new inkjet printing technology for OLED displays. This technology reduces light loss by 50% and makes displays 1.5 times more efficient.

Here's What We Know

Min-Jong Jou, head of the Technology Planning Centre, said that the new technology can reduce production costs by 20% and speed up product development by 30%.

TCL has abandoned the traditional method of manufacturing OLED displays and now uses precision inkjet printers. As a result, they are able to use materials in 90% of cases, which is twice as good as before.

TCL has already demonstrated several new displays, including a 65-inch 8K curved OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The company plans to start production of 21.6-inch 4K OLED displays for medical monitors by the end of 2024, and expand its range for computer devices in 2025.
