Google Pixel Watch 5 may get its own Tensor chip
Google is planning to introduce its first Tensor chip for smartwatches in the new Pixel Watch 5 model.
Here's What We Know
According to leaks, this chip will be equipped with a productive ARM Cortex-A78 core and two efficient Cortex-A55 cores. This means that Google aims to improve the performance of its smartwatches compared to existing models, such as the Pixel Watch 3, which use Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Plus Gen 1.
It is worth noting that the previous Snapdragon chip was introduced in 2022, which makes it outdated in the context of new technologies. The new Tensor chip, codenamed "NPT", scheduled for release in 2026, has the potential to significantly improve watch performance.
Although this chip does not meet the latest smartphone standards, it still promises to be a better option for users. There are also rumours of a possible collaboration with Samsung, which may supply its Exynos W1000 chipsets with similar specifications.
