Samsung announces One UI 7 (Android 15) beta: which Galaxy phones will be able to test the new version?
In the coming weeks, Samsung plans to launch the One UI 7.0 beta testing programme based on Android 15 and invite Galaxy smartphone users from selected countries to test the new version.
Here's What We Know
The company will use the feedback from beta testers to improve the system in order to release a stable version of the update as soon as possible.
However, not all users will be able to join the testing. Only a limited number of Galaxy devices will have access to the beta version. The latest flagships, such as the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy Fold 6, will be on the list, but other models also have a chance.
Samsung has not officially announced the list of devices that will receive the One UI 7.0 beta. However, based on previous launches, we can make assumptions. The following models are likely to join the programme:
- Galaxy S24 series
- Galaxy S23 series
- Galaxy S22 series
- Galaxy S21 series
- Galaxy Fold 6
- Galaxy Flip 6
- Galaxy Fold 5
- Galaxy Flip 5
- Galaxy Fold 4
- Galaxy Flip 4
- Galaxy Fold 3
- Galaxy Flip 3
- Galaxy A55
- Galaxy A54
- Galaxy A35
Samsung may expand the list of mid-range devices, but the company does not currently follow a single approach to introducing beta versions for them.
One UI 7.0 promises to be one of the biggest updates, especially in terms of the user interface. Among the expected innovations:
- New system app icons
- Changes to the background interface
- New control area on the lock screen
- Customisation of icons on the lock screen
- Option to display the Quick Launcher and notifications independently/combined
- New camera user interface
- New animations and widgets added
The official One UI 7.0 update is scheduled for early 2025. So don't forget to bookmark this page to stay up to date with news about the beta programme and new features.
