President Yun Sook-yol said that a South Korean delegation will visit Ukraine this week.

Yun shared the plan during a phone call with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, who confirmed that North Korean troops have been deployed in Russia's Kursk region.

"I hope that under the leadership of Secretary General Rutte, NATO will redouble its efforts to monitor and block illegal exchanges between Russia and North Korea," Yoon was quoted as saying.

Yun added that the South Korean delegation is going to hold a briefing for the EU's Political and Security Committee on Tuesday, and then visit Ukraine. The Koreans will meet with intelligence and defence officials to share information from the battlefield and discuss cooperation measures.

In his second phone call with Yoon in a week, Rutte said North Korean forces' involvement in the war in Ukraine is a "priority" for NATO.
