Beyerdynamic introduces the updated DT 1770 Pro and DT 1990 Pro studio headphones: new drivers and more comfortable design

Beyerdynamic has introduced updated models of its popular DT 1770 Pro and DT 1990 Pro studio headphones. Both models are now equipped with new 45mm TESLA.45 drivers that improve resolution and reduce distortion.

Here's What We Know

The new headphone design features memory foam that moulds to the shape of your head. This helps reduce pressure on the top of the head, even during prolonged use.

The DT 1990 Pro is an open-backed headphone that is suitable for audio mixing. While the DT 1770 Pro has a closed design that effectively reduces external noise, making them ideal for recording.

Both models come with detachable cables with mini-XLR connectors, making it easy to swap them out for a longer cable or a microphone and USB-C cable for mobile use. This also means that even if the cable fails, the headphones will remain functional.

Each model has two types of ear cushions: DT 1770 Pro with velour and leatherette ear cushions, and DT 1990 Pro with two types of velour for different sound characteristics. The set also includes a hard carrying case and two cables: one 3-metre long straight cable and one 5-metre long coiled cable.

The DT 1990 Pro MKII and DT 1770 Pro MKII can be ordered from the Beyerdynamic website for $599. Only the DT 1990 Pro MKII is currently available on Amazon, with delivery starting in mid-November. We also recommend the limited edition DT 770 Pro X, which costs $200 and has similar features such as TESLA.45 drivers, detachable cable, and a convenient design.
