Plans have changed: an insider has revealed that Apple has delayed the release of the budget Vision Pro model until 2027
It is known that Bloomberg: Apple is developing a budget version of its Vision Pro headset - it could come out as early as next year the Vision Pro mixed reality headset, which would use a less advanced chip and relatively cheap materials, which would allow the Apple Vision Pro to sell for $2000. Note, the current version of the Vision Pro costs $3499 and because of the high cost, few people are interested in it.
Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman reported that a cheaper version of Apple Vision Pro will go on sale in 2025, but another insider refutes his data.
Here's What We Know
Reputable insider Ming-Chi Kuo has reported that Apple will delay the release of the budget Vision Pro model until at least 2027. He cites the company's uncertainty that customers will be interested in even a cut-price gadget as the main reason. Instead, Apple will focus on producing a new headset with the M5 chip in the hope that it will be more popular than its predecessor.
As I understand it, production of the cheaper Vision Pro has been delayed beyond 2027 for a while now. This means Apple's only new head-mounted display device in 2025 will be the Vision Pro with an upgraded M5 processor.
