Motorola files patent for technology to unlock Rollable phone from any part of the screen using multiple fingerprint sensors

Motorola is working on a new phone with a moving display and full-screen fingerprint recognition.

Here's What We Know

The company has filed a patent for a technology that allows users to unlock the device from any part of the screen, thanks to several fingerprint sensors located throughout the screen.

This innovation is an evolution of the Moto Rizr concept phone, which was presented at MWC 2023. This device with a flexible display can expand from 5 to 6.5 inches.

The patent describes how the authentication system can be integrated into a movable screen, allowing users not only to change the size of the display but also to conveniently unlock the phone from anywhere on the screen.

It is not yet known whether Motorola will launch this device on the market.
