Media: Simon Kinberg, creator of two parts of Deadpool, Logan and the Star Wars Rebels animated series, will direct the shooting of the new trilogy of Star Wars films
It has long been rumoured that Disney and Lucasfilm are preparing a new trilogy of Star Wars films.
Almost nothing is known about the continuation of the cult franchise, but thanks to Deadline portal it was revealed who will be responsible for shooting the films.
Here's What We Know
Deadline sources reported that the main writer and producer of the new Star Wars trilogy will be Simon Kinberg - the author of the first two parts of Deadpool, producer of Logan and director of X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
It is reported that Simon Kinberg will not continue the story of the Skywalker family, but will offer a completely new saga within the familiar franchise.
As a producer, he will be joined by Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy.
It is noted that for Simon Kinberg this is not the first experience of working with the series Star Wars, previously he was a producer of animated series Star Wars Rebels and acted as a consultant in the shooting of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" (Star Wars: The Force Awakens).
Kinberg is currently producing a remake of The Running Man, based on the acclaimed Stephen King story
