Ukraine to receive Estonian missiles to shoot down Russian drones for testing

Ukraine will receive air defence missiles from Estonian defence company Frankenburg Technologies for testing.

Here's What We Know

The Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Brigadier General Anatoliy Klochko, met with the management of Frankenburg Technologies in Kyiv. The meeting discussed the testing of new missiles designed to counter unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with the ability to shoot down targets at an altitude of up to 2 km.

"Our goal is to help Ukraine win this war. To do this, we offer a sample of a new low-cost missile to shoot down air targets, primarily drones," said Frankenburg Technologies CEO Kusti Salm.

He also noted that in case of successful tests and approval for further use, the production of these missiles could be organised in Ukraine.

The parties also preliminarily agreed on a possible format for financing the production of missiles. Anatolii Klochko stressed that it is extremely important for Ukraine to expand its arsenal of missile weapons to repel Russian aggression and called on foreign manufacturers to provide modern weapons for combat tests.

"We are open to cooperation and ready to use various models of modern weapons," the deputy minister added.
