Apple explains why the power button of the Mac mini M4 2024 is at the bottom
Apple explains why the Mac mini 2024 power button has been moved down.
Here's What We Know
In the new model with the M4 Pro processor, the company managed to reduce the size of the PC and maintain high performance. As a result, the power button was moved to the bottom to optimise internal space.
Apple's senior vice presidents Greg Joswiak and John Ternus explained that most users rarely press the power button, as the Mac mini is usually in sleep mode.
The button is only needed to force a reboot or shutdown, so even if it is located at the bottom, it is easy to access. Plus, the new design makes it easy to access, as the Mac mini weighs just 0.72kg.
Although moving the button may make it harder to reach if the Mac mini is placed behind a display or TV, Apple has not commented on this point.
