Here's What We Know
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine have signed implementation agreements with the Ministry of Defence of Denmark that specify projects, financing terms and delivery of weapons for the Ukrainian army.
These documents finalised the agreements set out in the September Letter of Intent signed in Kyiv. The total amount of funding is about $629 million and includes a number of purchases from Ukrainian defence companies.
The projects are funded by the governments of Sweden and Denmark, as well as frozen Russian assets managed by Denmark on behalf of the EU. Denmark has allocated $185 million, while $414 million has come as interest from frozen Russian assets.
By the end of 2024, these funds are expected to be used to purchase long-range drones, anti-tank missile systems (ATMS), missiles, and Ukrainian self-propelled artillery systems for the Ukrainian Defence Forces.
