Apple has released a new firmware version for AirPods 4 (version 7B20) and AirPods Pro 2 with Lightning and USB-C charging cases (version 7B21). Previously, these models worked on version 7B19.
Here's What We Know
It's not yet known what new features or changes are included in the update, but Apple has said that these versions contain "bug fixes and other improvements."
Last month's 7B19 release added new hearing screening and hearing protection capabilities to AirPods Pro 2 when used with an iPhone or iPad on iOS 18.1 or iPadOS 18.1.
The update installs automatically over the network when AirPods are in the charging case and connected to an iOS device or Mac.
