Google may bring back the sought-after customisation feature in Android 15 that was in Android 11

According to new leaks, Google is preparing to bring back the popular icon customisation feature that was available in Android 11.

Here's What We Know

The first beta of Android 15 QPR2 introduced the ability to change the shape of icons on the homescreen. Previously, Pixel users could customise the font, design, accent colour and shape of the icons, but this feature was removed in Android 12. The new Android 15 QPR2 Beta 1 introduces the icon shape change feature in the new Android 15 beta, but it is not yet active due to lack of resources required for this change.

However, Google plans to bring back this feature in the next quarterly update to the platform. This change is part of a broader update that includes new features such as replacing Do Not Disturb mode with Modes and adding the Linux Terminal developer app. Android 15 QPR2 also includes a significant kernel update for Pixel phones and new features in the Pixel wallpaper app.
