Media: Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson bids to become head of The Walt Disney Company

Gamers used to have a negative attitude to the personality of Andrew Wilson, because under his leadership Electronic Arts released a huge number of low-quality games and significantly tightened their monetisation. However, from a business point of view, Wilson proved to be an excellent manager, whose decisions increased the company's revenues and allowed to make several successful deals.

It seems that Wilson's talents are recognised not only by the board members and investors of Electronic Arts, but also by his business colleagues.

Here's What We Know

According to The Wall Street Journal, Disney is searching for a successor to Bob Iger - CEO of The Walt Disney Company.

It is reported that the recruiting agency Heidrick & Struggles offers three candidates outside of Disney and one of them was Andrew Wilson.

The head of Electronic Arts has repeatedly been in contact with Disney on business issues, his studios produced games on the famous Disney franchises (mainly Star Wars), and a few years ago Wilson even negotiated a merger between EA and Disney.

The American media holding company will name a new head only in early 2026, so the list of candidates may expand.
