Is it that bad? Samsung may move Exynos chip production to rival TSMC's factories

Information has emerged that Samsung is considering transferring the production of its Exynos chips to TSMC. This is due to the difficulties that Samsung is experiencing in the production of 3nm chips in its factories.

Here's What We Know

In recent years, many of Samsung's major customers have switched to TSMC due to production issues at the South Korean giant's factories. Informant @Jukanlosreve reported that Samsung may also turn to TSMC to produce Exynos chips. Former Qualcomm employee and analyst @SamirKhazaka also confirmed this information. This decision is due to the fact that Samsung has not been able to produce 3nm chips efficiently despite successfully solving the problems with the 4nm Exynos 2400 chips.

Furthermore, insiders claim that the Galaxy S25 series will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip globally, which also points to possible production issues with the Exynos 2500 chip. Switching to TSMC could be a backup plan for Samsung if production problems at its own factories persist.
