ChatGPT now reads code from Mac apps for developers
OpenAI has introduced a new feature for ChatGPT on macOS. The chatbot can now read code in popular developer applications such as VS Code, Xcode, TextEdit, Terminal, and iTerm2.
Here's What We Know
This allows developers to work with ChatGPT without having to copy and paste code - the bot automatically gets the context based on your request.
Thanks to the use of special features of macOS, ChatGPT can work with the last 200 lines of code to help with specific requests. However, the chatbot is not yet able to automatically edit code directly in apps.
The "Work with Programs" feature is the first step towards creating more advanced AI systems. OpenAI plans to expand support for other tools in the future. The feature is currently available for Plus and Teams users, and in the future it will be available for Enterprise and Edu.
