Back to the 70s: Casio's new watch with calculator functions in the style of the first Casio Mini calculator is unveiled
Casio has released a modern version of its famous calculator watch, inspired by the first Casio Mini personal calculator released in the early 70s.
Here's What We Know
The new model features green text on the negative LCD display and a keypad with original fonts separated by grid lines. The red mode button resembles the power indicator of a calculator.
The watch can perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division up to eight digits. Dual time, alarm and stopwatch are also among the functions of the watch. The strap is made from biodegradable resin, minimising environmental impact. The watch is waterproof and lasts up to five years on a single CR2016 battery.
The original Casio calculator, launched in 1972, was a hit and sold over a million units in its first 10 months.
The new watch models, the CA-53WB-1B, CA-53WB-3B and CA-53WB-8B, are available in black, blue/green and ivory colours, priced at $35.95.
