Design of the new BMW iX3 revealed by patent images
Patent images of the electric BMW iX3 have been leaked online. It will appear in 2025, will be based on the Neue Klasse platform and will be different from the BMW X3 with an internal combustion engine.
Here's What We Know
On the patent images you can see a modified front grille: the signature "nostrils" became much smaller than in the X3 with internal combustion engine and became reminiscent of the style of BMW 60-70-ies. Strict body lines are supplemented by sharply outlined headlights and taillights as in last year's Neue Klasse X concept.
However, the main innovations lie inside. The BMW iX3 will feature an 800-volt architecture, which will significantly improve charging speeds. The crossover will be equipped with cylindrical cell batteries manufactured by CATL, Eve and Envision AESC. The range of the new iX3 should be 30% higher than that of current models, that is, it will be more than 600 kilometres on the WLTP cycle.
The car will have rear or all-wheel drive with a motor on each axle depending on the configuration. The interior has not yet been declassified, but it is expected to follow the overall minimalist approach of the Neue Klasse.
