Apple is preparing to release new iPhone 17 models using A19 and A19 Pro chips, which will be manufactured using TSMC's latest 3nm third-generation process known as N3P.
Here's What We Know
This process has an increased transistor density compared to the previous N3E process used in the A18 and A18 Pro chips for the iPhone 16. This is expected to provide better performance and power efficiency for the iPhone 17 models.
The A19 chips for iPhone 17 and A19 Pro chips for iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are expected to improve the overall efficiency of the new devices. The N3P technology was to be launched in mass production in the second half of 2024.
In the future, in 2026, Apple plans to use TSMC's 2-nm process for A20 chips in the iPhone 18.
