Wrangler 4xe Willys '41 Special Edition: Jeep has launched a modern SUV with a hybrid engine in the style of the 1941 military Willys MB

Jeep has introduced a special version of the Wrangler 4xe SUV under the designation Willys '41. The novelty reminds of the legendary Willys MB, which was the basis of US military vehicles during the Second World War and laid the foundation for all subsequent Jeep vehicles.

Here's What We Know

The special version of Jeep Wrangler 4xe, priced from $59,930, has an original design: olive green body colour, typical for army vehicles of the 1940s, and blue lettering, stylised to match the markings of US military vehicles. The 17-inch aluminium wheels are painted to match the body tone and fitted with 33-inch off-road tyres.

The interior meets modern comfort with a touch of nostalgia: khaki-coloured cloth seats, an olive inlay on the front panel and a '41 badge medallion on the transmission selector. A body-coloured roof is included, but a soft beige roof option will also be available in the near future to add authenticity.

Despite the retro design, the technical equipment of the car is 21st century. The 4xe hybrid system combines a 2.0-litre turbo engine and two electric motors, together producing 375bhp. Jeep promises 21 miles (34km) of range on electric power alone. By comparison, the original Willys MB had a 2.2-litre engine with 54bhp.

Orders for the '41 Willys are already open in the US. Deliveries to dealers are expected by the end of calendar year 2024 along with the rest of the 2025 model year Wrangler lineup.
