Xiaomi unveils affordable 5G smartphone Redmi A4 with Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset and 50MP camera in India

Xiaomi has introduced a new affordable 5G smartphone, the Redmi A4, in the Indian market.

This is an entry-level 5G smartphone powered by a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset with 8 cores and a 4nm processor.

The smartphone has a 6.88-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 5160mAh battery with 18W fast charging, and a 50MP primary camera for high-quality photos. It runs on Android 14 with HyperOS and promises two major OS updates.

The Redmi A4 5G is also IP52 water and dust resistant and supports microSD cards up to 1TB.

The smartphone is available in two storage options: 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB, with prices starting at INR 8,499 (approximately USD 100). The models will be available for purchase on Xiaomi's official website and Amazon India from 27 November. The Redmi A4 5G is available in Starry Black and Sparkle Purple colours.
