Insider: Valve is developing Steam Controller-2 and a new gamepad that will be able to connect to any gaming platform
Valve likes to experiment and release unusual devices that do not always find a buyer. The most successful products are the Steam Deck handheld console and the Valve Index VR-headset.
Blogger and insider Brad Lynch reported interesting news about the development of two new gamepads by Valve.
Here's What We Know
According to Brad Lynch, the first device is a new version of the relatively popular Steam Controller gamepad, which is codenamed Ibex. The second new product is a controller codenamed Roy, designed for "universal use". It is expected to be compatible with the Deckard VR helmet, which has long been rumoured, but Valve has yet to unveil it.

Both are being tooled for a mass production goal in their factories right now. That's why I know they're in later stages of productisation
Lynch claims that Roy's gamepad will feature a full set of buttons - a crossbar, bumpers, and ABXY buttons - and will be able to connect to VR helmets, consoles, and PCs. Visually, it will be similar to the controller for Valve Index.
